The Stockton Unified School District is also known as S.U.S.D.. It is located in Stockton in the state of California, USA. It caters to the educational needs of the children living in the Stockton area, and it also attends to the needs of 188733 residents. It covers 55.62 sq. miles. There are approximately 38000 students and over 4000 employees. Jack McLaughlin is the district’s superintendent.
The district is currently converting its middle schools and elementary schools into K-8 schools. It has 6 high schools; Cesar Chaves High School, Edison High School, Franklin High School, Stagg high School, Charles M. Weber Institute for Applied Sciences and Technology, and Institute of Business, Management and Law. The district also has 4 middle schools, which are the Fremont Middle School, Hamilton Middle School, Marshall Middle School and the Webster middle School. It has a total of 10 schools. A total of 56 schools are within the district boundery. This school district has a so-called “facilities department”, which is in charge of building more schools for the following years. They are also responsible for the maintenance and modernization of the campuses. The other departments give services to students by means of protection, teaching, instructing and the like. Some of such services include administration, human resources (H.R.), professional development, education services, police, risk management, food services, business services, curriculum and transportation. |
