The Parkway School District is situated in St. Louis County in Missouri USA. It consists of 18 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, 4 high schools, a non-traditional high school, and an early childhood center. It also has a diverse student
organization. Caucasians are 71.1, African-Americans are 16.8 percent, 10.2 percent are Asians and the 2.0 percent are from other races. The district’s central offices are situated at 455 N. Woods mill Rd., Chesterfield, Missouri. It earned a “distinction in performance rating” on its Annual Performance Reviews since the year 2001. Parkway is also recognized by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. It is so far the “highest rating” any school district can attain. This state review is done every 5 years. Parkway’s 1.7 percent dropout rate is quite impressive. It also has a ninety-one-percent graduation rate.
The board had set 3 education goals for the years 2006 up to 2008. The first goal is “Academic Achievement and Engagement for All Students” that seek research strategies and partnerships to increase grades in subjects like Science and Math. The others are “Positive Relationships and a Caring and Responsive School Community” and “Advancing the Technological Infrastructure to Meet the Needs of the District “. |
