Palmdale School District serves a large part of Palmdale City, California USA. It was initially established in the late 1880s. The school district had met its first “unification” in 1892. Harold district was then formed from parts of Palmdale, Soledad and Lancaster. The previous school was moved to Palmdale Boulevard. Catastrophe like earthquake and fire happened in this school. Despite all this, the school district of Palmdale remained open. It was in the spring of 1960 when this school district was renamed “Roy R. Maryott School”. Maryott as well as Tumbleweed School remained a unified educational facility until the mid 1960s. Afterwards, Tumbleweed school detached itself from Maryott and became a separate school. The number of enrollees in Maryott at that time was only 360.
It has 28,000 students and a total of 29 schools. This district consists of one preschool, fourteen elementary schools, four junior high schools, four combined elementary and junior high schools, one technical school, one Spanish language school, 1 special education school, one alternative education school and two specialty schools.
This school district is only serving kindergarten
up to the 8th grade. The high school levels which are from grades 9 to 12 are served by the “Antelope Valley Union High School District”. |
