The Riverside Unified School District is located in Riverside, California (USA). It is the 14th largest district in the state of California. It covers roughly around 92 sq. miles, which include the main portion of the Riverside City and other cities outside the district’s area like Woodcrest and Highgrove. The district has been racially incorporated since the year 1965. The students speak over 51 different languages and dialects. It has a total of 45 schools.
There are 29 elementary schools, a preschool special education school, six middle schools , five comprehensive high schools, two high school continuations and two alternative schools. Dr. Susan J. Rainey is the school district’s superintendent. It has over 3373 employees, and over 2119 of whom are certified employees. As of the current statistics, 42% of the district’s staff have master’s and doctorate degrees, and more than 75% of the district’s high school graduates usually enroll in training programs. In order to graduate from high school, students are required to complete the 215 hours worth of credits. They must also pass the “California High School Exit Exam” (also known as CAHSEE) to get a diploma. The secondary schools are attributed by the “Western Association of Schools and Colleges”. |
