Santa Ana Unified School District or SAUSD has over sixty one thousand students in kindergarten up to the 12th grade. It also has over five thousand members of the faculty and staff that represent sixty-three dynamic sites throughout the Santa Ana community. The district operates with a four hundred fifty million budget. It covers only twenty-four square miles but is the third largest school district in the whole state of California. It is the most crowded city in Orange County. It lies roughly over 16km inland from the Pacific Ocean.
This school district has a mission which states that, “It is dedicated to a high academic achievement, in scholarly and supportive environment and ensuring that the students are well prepared to accomplish their goals in life”.
The SAUSD is now undergoing budget reduction due to ongoing student decline and is now looking for suggestions on how to implement this “budget reduction plan”. The district is now undergoing immense financial dispute. SAUSD has achieved numerous awards in academics and in implementation. The latest of which is the “Top 10 Orange County’s schools that showed great improvement in Academic Performance”. This school district raked the seven out of the ten schools that were chosen. |
