School District is the 8th largest school district in the state. It is located in Durham County in North Carolina USA. It was established in 1992 by the merging of Durham County Schools and City Schools. It s located in Durham County.
At present, there are forty-six public schools in the district. The school district comprises of 28 elementary schools, 8 middle schools, a secondary school, 7 high schools, an alternative school, and a hospital school. This school district has a diversity of race. 55.1 percent are Blacks, 25.2 percent are Whites, 14.0 percent are Hispanics, 2.3 percent are Asians, 0.2 percent are Native-Indians and the 3.2 percent are for other races.
Over 4,600 people are employed in the school district. 2,300 of these are teachers. Teacher salary range from $28,698 to $64,658.The student’s population is about 31,130. 257 are from kindergarten, grades 1 to 5 are 14,775, grades 6 to 8 are 7,206 and grades 9 to 12 are 9,501.It had met a 32.6-percent increase in yearly progress in order to achieve the No Child Left Behind Act’s goals. The government uses over 350 school buses in order to transport over 16,000 students
