The Orange Unified School District is found in Orange County, California (USA). It caters the educational needs of the children of Villa Park and Orange County, lands in Silverado and portions of the cities of Anaheim, Santa Ana and Garden Grove in the state of California. It has approximately 31600 students based on the school year 2005-2006 enrollment figures.
This District has 29 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, four high schools, a magnet school, continuing school and 2 special schools. 19 schools within the district were noted in “California’s Distinguished Schools”, and 3 high schools were listed in Newsweek’s “1,000 Best Public High Schools in America”. The elementary schools and middle schools achieve national distinctions because of the above-average test scores of the students. Some of the schools were rated by the state as “Underperforming Schools” and are sanctioned by the “No Child left Behind Policy”. The district has numerous awards and a very vast history.
It continues to practice the highest possible standards so that the students will have an excellent quality of education. The teachers of the school year 2005-2006 were Jenniffer Howard (high school), Chip Kavanaugh (elementary school) and Linda Schleiger, all of whom received recognition because of their hard work and dedication to their work. |
